Gottfried OT re broadband in Si Valley

Yes, it's very sad that the South Bay has many pockets with no broadband available.

I am near San Jose, and have 384k ADSL from PacBell. But I'm very lucky... I'm actually 19,000 feet from the CO, and I only qualified because PacBell was fairly incompetent about measuring these things back in Feb. They had to cap it at 384 because that was the only way they could make it work.

I've now been told that my service is frozen... if I try to change it in any way, they will cancel me.
