unclewest, thanks for the post about this thread, its purpose, and its leadership. Many of us have made this our main cyber home, I among them. The reason for that is that this thread is focused on a theme and has remained focused on that theme. I will not try to explain that theme. Read the header; RTFM; read the thread. The success of this thread is in great part due to Frank's diplomacy and firm leadership. This is the kindest thread on SI, imo. This may be the only thread that could discuss sexism and remain civil. Now, we've discussed it; we've learned from it; we will be more sensitive about it. I have pretty well had it with the distractions about the purpose of this thread. We decided long ago that we would stay on the theme that Frank has kept us focused upon since day 1. I do not support a change from that even if there is a "vote" to do otherwise. I am glad that Frank has stuck his head up here again. I encourage the thread to resume its successful ways under the leadership of Frank. If Frank is willing to lead, I am willing to follow. No vote necessary. If some don't like to be here with the focus and leadership that has made this thread successful, I invite them to leave. Please don't PM me on this. If you have something to say, say it here so all can see. Better yet, don't even respond except with at post about Gorillas and Kings. Galahad

UW, << hi uncle frank and mike, the two of you, coupled with the other serious and dedicated gamers have an awesome thing going here. personally, i have learned tons. the demand to rtfm and stay on "appropriate game strategy discussion" seems quite reasonable to me...afterall it is your thread and game >> It is indeed their thread and game, and they have created and nourished an awesome thread that you and I and many others have joined, benefited from, and attempt to contribute to. To any and all that do not like the focus, don't want to stay on topic, and wish to deviate it, I simply say, start a new thread. I also say to them, don't bother us Gorilla Gamers here with endless OT discussions and votes on new direction and focus. I admire the diplomacy of Frank and Mike. I, however, have not developed this skill to quite the degree they have. I am resolved to be less patient than they have been with individuals who have dedicated their considerable energy to deviate the intent and purpose of this thread. I feel that the gender card that was thrown onto the table on Sunday was a foul, malicious, cowardly, reprehensible, and calculated, red herring. We have all sidestepped this issue. I was one of the first to respond, in what I hope was polite fashion, and I have not had a response back. None is necessary. No permanent damage has been done. Mike (and Jerry, and Tekboy, and David, and Stan, and Tom, and LindyBill, and many others) are dedicated to stay the course on this thread and they too have become leaders here. If any of those well-educated (heck, any degree of educated, provided that they have read the FM and or RM) lurkers that Donna from San Diego purports to represent, would care to step forward and assist the leaders above in keeping this thread on track, I would certainly applaud it. I know that they will be most welcome here. Uncle Frank belongs on this thread. He is much more in character here, acting in a leadership capacity with his threadmates, than he is pretending to be a Curmudgeon over on the new thread. I welcome Frank back. I am hopeful that he will assume his former position of leadership. If he wishes to adopt a more curmudgeonly attitude, he should have at it. This thread should not be distracted. Thank you for listening. I am reminded that I have committed to DownSouth to preparing a reexamination of the Information Technology/Information Security - Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) arena and the potential Gorillas like RSAS (formerly SDTI) in it that Moore discussed in the FM, but edited out of the RFM. Hear! Hear! uw...I'm a 62-year-old female who has been/seen/done a lot and I found this thread on the weekend of the first Poet/Jill debacle, around the first of November or so. I got past that fracas because I had been reading all of the past posts and the FM and thought I'd found a "home". My reason for being here is to learn how to make enough money to take care of my future, not fight the world's oldest battle. Now I just want to add my two cents worth in favor of everyone re-reading the first post about Uncle Frank and the portfolios that opens up each time we come to this thread. It is basically a "mission statement", there's nothing unclear about it. If some readers/posters here don't want to discuss the narrow subject of Moore's theory and its application to the stock market they really should see that it's in their best interest and go find or start another thread. It will certainly be in the best interest of those of us who want this thread to remain as it was created and maintained so diligently and, apparently, enjoyably by the "elders". Hell, every civilization that has ever endured had elders who slapped knuckles! <Back to lurking, and hoping for the old thread to "phoenix"> Kay
