Absolutely Right. Most Juniors have fallen since the
September gold rush. The IWA story continues to get better.
The price is hanging on at these levels and new buying
is coming in. Note the volume in the past few weeks.
When will it break out?????????????????????????Hopefully
soon.

12/9/99 - BC Environmental Assessment Formal Submission Underway

INTERNATIONAL WAYSIDE GOLD MINES LTD. ("IWA-V;IWYGF-L") - BC Environmental Assessment Formal Submission Underway - Drilling resumes at the BC Vein at Cariboo Gold Project

The Board of Directors of International Wayside Gold Mines Ltd. (the "Company") wish to report on the Company's 100% optioned Cariboo Gold Project, at Wells, British Columbia.

Construction of the 3,000 tpd facility could commence in the spring of 2001 if the BC Environmental Assessment process proceeds as scheduled. Submission of an Application to the BC Environmental Assessment Process this month will trigger the first of two stages in the formal review.

Preliminary public consultation under the process started last month with public meetings in Wells, (the location of the project), Quesnel and Williams Lake. As anticipated, the open houses found the majority of the public supporting development of the Project in principle. Due to its close proximity to Wells, the Company is establishing a Public Liaison Committee to identic and address local impacts and benefits resulting from the development of the mine.

The Cariboo Gold Project has a tourism component designed to complement Wells' recent designation as a Tourism Gateway for the Cariboo. Initiatives including mine tours, open houses, mine viewing sites, and a gold coin minting initiative have been met with considerable interest locally.

Management believes that an opportunity exists for an open pit mine (News Release 99-01) together with a high grade underground operation such as the BC Vein (News Release 99-15). The Cariboo Gold Quartz Project consists of the Cariboo Gold Quartz mine, Island Mountain Gold mine and the Mosquito Creek Gold mine and covers 11,500 acres over a distance of 8 miles by 3 miles. The Company has drilled off thus far a measured and probable resource of an additional 1 million plus ounces mineable by open-pitiable methods depending on cut-off and is open at both ends and to depth. Recorded production from the Company's ground and surrounding area is 3.9 million ounces of gold, of which 1.2 million ounces was lode and 2.6 million ounces was placer.

Surface diamond drilling resumed on the BC Vein and will continue all winter. TEL: (604) 669-6463

Will 2000 be the year for IWA?

This is the latest commentary from speculativestocks.com

"We have not commented on our last guest pick, International Wayside Gold for
a while as with the Christmas period and snow in the drilling area things have
obviously slowed down. We did hear though that the company was buying more
drilling
equipment to augment the drills already on the property. Now you do not buy more
drilling equipment if nothing is going on, nor do you buy it if there is no
expectation
of use, so we expect more announcements to come out from the Company in the near
future. The property sits right beside an all weather highway so access is not
really a big consideration. The only real barrier is the cold weather which
makes
the drilling process a little less attractive, but a drilling shed normally
takes
care of that. So our take on this is an expansion of the drilling program to
either prove up from resource to reserve, or to put more resources onto the BC
Vein.

For those who do not know the difference between a reserve and a resource, think
of fishing. A reserve means you have the fish hooked, in the boat, and are
trying
to decide how you are going to cook it, while a resource is the fish is hooked,
you have it close to the boat, it looks big, but it is distorted a little by
the water, and it might still get away.

This company, we have stated on numerous occasions, is going to become an
operating
gold mine and we believe sooner rather than later. Many investors however prefer
to pay higher prices for a sure thing, forgetting that the big gains are made
when you identify a good stock that is really cheap and accumulate it during
the low price cycle."
