Sig re: I prefer to look at it this way. Dell does not
yet have the people and facilities to keep up with
demand. Contracting with SGI provides(the assumed)
100k units for added sales of 150MM and profits of 30mm
without adding great numbers of Dell employees.
It frees Dell to use their own people to continue
expanding production of servers and data storage
units with higher margins.
Adding sales and earnings in this way is a better option
than to do than nothing and still (possibly) watch
margins decline. <<<<<

Very level headed outlook (IMO). Some on the board keep insisting Dell must hit home runs when they hit the ball, but Dell (as in Gigabuys) seems to go for a base hit, then through a learning process (I'm a process nut) make strategic improvements until they bury the competition.

I like Dell's Webpc price target, style, and colors. It is a close follow to the iMac but with the promise of service to the customer and low cost for providing the service to the stock holder.

Cheers
Mike
