I worked in a modern office building and once saw the
blueprints for my floor. I was surprised to see that
the women's restroom had only 3 toilets while the men
had 3 toilets plus 2 urinals, giving the men 66% more
facilities. But of about 50 employees on the floor,
75% were women, making the restroom allocation totally
out of kilter.

Makes me wonder why the women never protested, as far
as I know. Maybe they were unaware of the imbalance
or maybe it wasn't often a problem.

I think actually that they HAVE demanded more facilities as a part of being equal. WHich as I type may make less sense than what you said, but I seem to remember the old ballpark having to add. And complaints about Reunion Arena(basketball) needing more.
Anyway the opera has a LOT of stalls, probably 40 or 50 and an attendant to make sure all the little old ladies are directed into the empty ones. That opera was just too damn long for all these aging bladders, including my own.
