A year ago, at the very end of December, my wife and I drove to the Highpoint, NC area to an enormous furniture showroom called Furnitureland. We spent the day looking at all kinds of things and finally settled on a dining table and 6 chairs, a sleigh bed and a sofabed. We naturally were able to choose the fabrics on the chair seats and the sofa.
The dining stuff and the bed were Drexel and the sofa was Kohler. We were told to expect a 90 day period for the items to be made and then delivered.

In short we didn't see the things until Mid May. I was extremely pleased with the quality and the delivery service, but I was torqued over the 4 1/2 month wait. I think they'd been sitting on about a $2500 deposit all that time.

The problem here was Drexel, the Kohler piece was ready in two months and sat awaiting completion of the order.
So I'll resume buying antiques in the future. Often cheaper now, worth more in ten years, and delivered the next day.

I am excited about CMGI, but furniture over the net doesn't thrill me. I recognize that I probably don't reflect the broader society.
