Lucent Technologies
and e.Digital that plays
music downloaded from
the Internet encoded via
Lucent's Enhanced
Perceptual Audio Coding
(EPAC) scheme. Slated
to hit the market by this
year's holiday shopping
season, the
yet-to-be-named device
will be compliant with
whatever portable audio
device specs come out of
SDMI, according to the
partners. The player will
be bundled with the
SanDisk memory card,
which will allow for
playback of
approximately one hour
of music.
