At the risk of trying to defend S3, Savage 2K is on the selling in this area, however I don't think S3 or the Street was expecting much from the retail side for S2K. The market for this product has been OEM's. On the flip side by way of volume and margins, I'm hearing S3 Christmas product is RIO which has 3X the margins of S2K and they can't keep up with the demand for it.

Saw a whole bunch of Diamond Viper II's (Savage 2000) at Best Buy on Thursday 12/2 for $199. The Nvida GForce board was $249.

So the Savage 2000 is definitely out there at retail well before Christmas.
