stay tuned for the "official Washington DC version from our very own reporters NOT on the scene, RR and kholt...

Yeah.... right. Like you're "on the scene" yourself...

You're too busy with your buddy, Roy, scamming people into playing your Gold Trommel lottery scheme over the internet.

But I'm sure your a kindred spirit to these WTO protesters. Hell..., I'm sure you'd love to be up there yourself yelling your diatribes through a megaphone and bashing windows and looting businesses.

Seems to me, in fact, that it's pretty obvious that you would prefer to deny government all legal means of preserving order and preventing willful lawlessness.

You certainly don't believe the local Seattle police deserve any support in dealing with these rioters/looters.. Heck, you b*tch and moan when a couple of hundred(hundred?) guardsmen get called up to provide support to the police.

It doesn't matter that the news has reported that these guardsmen are UNARMED except for billy clubs and body armor (quite unlike the FULLY ARMED police they are supporting).

That what's p*sses people like myself off, as both a prior Active and Reserve member. We're there to defend our nation from threats, whether international or domestic, risking our lives EVERYDAY (peacetime military maneuvers ALWAYS are inherently risky and people are injured or killed in training accidents). Yet, we have to put up with Sh*t for Brains @ssholes like yourself declaring we mere pawns of the trilaterists and New World Order, bent on destroying everything that we have defended for 200+ years.

Well.. KISS MY @SS, Rose!!!!

Lucky for you I'm now longer in that line of work. I'd like nothing more than to seek people like you out and put the Habeous Grabbus on you under conditions of martial law. Then we'd see how vocal you were about impugning our military professionalism and patriotism.

Let me add, that is just your kind of vitriolic hatred and suspicion of the military that eventually results in soldiers losing their professional bearing and caving in to their human emotions for retribution and revenge.

The military still has yet to get over having its soldier spat upon and called baby-killers after risking their lives in Vietnam.

The only reason you have to right to speak your mind is because their exists a military that protects the very constitution that gave you that right.

But your rights are limited when they incite others to riot or act in a willfully lawless manner that endangers life and property.

Oh, my! Seems I've gotten myself a reputation as an apologist for Washington. I would hate to see that little misunderstanding compromise my staunch libertarian (small "l") credentials.

Most of what I've had to say that is supportive of the Feds in this Y2K matter is aimed at those on the thread who have been frustrated by unrealistic expectations of their government entities. Government entities have particular roles, responsibilities, authorizations, budgets, staffing patterns, etc. and they stay true to form. Dogs bark and ducks quack. Nothing inherent to the advent of Y2K is going to make them vocalize otherwise. If the people want pigs to whinny, then they have to get the laws changed. Being angry at ducks who quack or distrustful of pigs who oink is not particularly useful.

Regarding the doin's in Seattle, sorry, I have nothing to contribute at this time. I've been preoccupied with a personal matter since the rioting started and haven't been following the matter. All I heard is that Ron Insana on CNBC got in the way of some pepper spray or tear gas or something equally nasty. Hope your broker is upwind in addition to upstairs.

I hear what you are saying, I do.

But don't you remember the 60's? Or maybe you do. The citizens of the United States will always stand up when things are wrong.

We are a tough breed when we are challenged.

Looks like we don't have to wait for Y2K to learn about some "restrictions" of personal freedoms already stripped from us that we aren't supposed to know yet...

NEWS FLASH
Seattle has turned thousands of ordinary citizens into criminals by
outlawing gas masks. It is now illegal to purchase, sell, convey,
possess, carry or transport gas masks within the Seattle city limits.
Violators are subject to fines of up to 500 dollars and imprisonment
of up to 180 days.

The premise? "All citizens must be gassable."

FLASHBACK: During the Gulf War, Israel handed out gas masks to its
citizens, free of charge, as protection.

FLASH: GAS-MASKS.COM THREATENS LAWSUIT
Saying that the criminalization of gas masks leaves Seattle citizens
vulnerable to a bioterrorism attack, Gas-Masks.com (www.gas-masks.com)
threatens to take Seattle to court.

FLASH: SAFE-TREK OUTFITTERS JOINS LAWSUIT
Safe-Trek Outfitters (www.safetrek.com) announced today they will
join any class-action lawsuit against the city of Seattle for
endangering the lives of the public.

Wonder if I'll be the first to post on this Y2K thread the news announcement of just who has filed the first lawsuit. I'm wagering it will be the ACLU.

Yep, the Army's Domestic Preparedness Agenda codename for Y2K prep for 120 targeted cities as revealed on SI by some committed Y2K reporters over 18 months ago includes training and scenarios for Domestic or Foreign Terriorism response.

Now we know that "ALL CITIZENS MUST BE GASSABLE."

Isn't it perfectly wonderful how the stripping of freedoms comes out piecemeal, before the collectively embraced CDC?

Good GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
