Found it! It will be on "World News Tonight" with Peter Jennings @ 7:00pm est. The header says "A CLOSER LOOK AT GENE THERAPY. IS IT A REVOLUTION IN MEDICINE OR A DANGEROUS FAILURE THAT ONLY WORKS IN ANIMALS?" This could be temporarily devastating or a take off.

Isis is not a gene therapy company, folks. The ABC news story is about the fall out from events over the past several weeks that include at least one well publicized death of an 18 year old who underwent gene therapy as a volunteer. NIH is holding a meeting in DC this week of about 500 scientists and physicians who are asking some tough questions... like are we moving too fast with gene therapy approaches that use viral vectors - about 89% of the current trials employ this method of delivery.
Sure there can be collateral damage to therapeutic approaches that are mistaken for gene therapy. For those who post here about other companies, ISIP is NOT a gene therapy company whereas VICL is at least partially in the gene therapy business (not totally). Hope this helps those who may be confused or just wondering what's the news about.
