Company Press Release

HostLogic Signs Comprehensive Application Hosting Agreement With Tyco International Ltd.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE--Nov. 30, 1999--HostLogic, Inc., a managed application provider, today announced that it has been awarded a comprehensive international application hosting contract from Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE:TYC - news; LSE:TYI) (BSX:TYC), a $22 billion diversified manufacturing and service company operating in more than 80 countries worldwide.

HostLogic will deliver and manage high-end enterprise software solutions via the Internet to Tyco's subsidiaries.

"Tyco's vast size and the comprehensive scope of our agreement, likely the largest in the rapidly expanding ASP industry, validates the logic of application hosting," said Herbert P. Goertz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HostLogic, Inc. "We're very pleased to be awarded this global responsibility for one of the largest companies in the world."

By "leasing" applications over the Internet from HostLogic, organizations gain access to the full range of Internet based mySAP.com(TM) solutions, from financial and material management to human resources and project management, without having to invest in expensive hardware and software applications. With HostLogic, organizations also avoid the expense of hiring a legion of specialized in-house programmers to implement and maintain SAP software solutions in their facility, enabling them to lower operational costs and increase productivity, while streamlining enterprise business processes.

"Our service agreement with Tyco expands the traditional concept of the prime hosting candidate, which was a fast-growing, start-up company," added Mr. Goertz. "The economies of application hosting are equally realized by large, successful and established companies such as Tyco, which operates in various business segments as well."

As a company with a strong acquisition record, Tyco regards hosting as a vital solution for the strategic growth of the companies it acquires. "HostLogic's ability to offer vertical market solutions to Tyco companies was clearly a key differentiator in our decision to award them the contract," said L. Dennis Kozlowski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tyco. "We will rely upon HostLogic to bring adaptable enterprise software solutions to our worldwide operations." Tyco companies hold leadership positions in each of its four core businesses: Healthcare and Specialty Products, Fire and Security Services, Flow Control, and Telecommunications and Electronics.
