Well, my problem with unwired planet and that whole group of companies (there are a few... another one in Gilroy run by Dan Eilers, I don't recall the co name)... anyway pretty much without exception those are the old PDA people that went into this area... in general I think they were all poor at evaluating customer needs, they came from hardware, Apple etc. and really missed some key opportunities for their products in applications (wireless interface into Siebel, etc. when it mattered)... in general that ex-Apple pda crowd is so clueless when it comes to software it really hurts them and thats my gripe. There were just tons of those PDA companies once, it was a major bust... Aha was another one, Rossman from phone.com had EO I think.

On another matter, this wineshopper.com is an interesting company. A totally virtual organization with no warehousing/inventory except the really high end imports you can't get anywhere else. They don't compete with the existing infrastructure and so they are embraced by it. Very interesting, you never know, wine could be like books on the internet, a good website with commentary could propel the entire market.
