I would have thought they would at least offer it as an option but I couldn't find any way to configure it...

A surprising number of DELL machines do not appear to be Windows 2000 "ready" - it seems like DELL is content to sell the "old" OS on the "old" machines, and have only some of the line support Windows 2000.

As opposed to CPQ, where every commercial desktop and laptop product is certified Windows 2000 ready.

MSFT has said that Windows 2000 is the "business operating system". I think CPQ is making the right choice in getting solidly behind Windows 2000. This was especially evident at COMDEX, where CPQ was everywhere in the MSFT booth around Windows 2000 - the hands-on demos, migration services, and of course in the Bill Gates keynote where compaq got 17 references. DELL got zero. HP got zero. IBM got zero.
