John,
re > The other problem I see is that if you
DO want to add peripherals, they cost MORE than if you just ordered a box with the
peripheral built IN. Case in point - if you order an LS120 floppy drive in a Dell
Dimension system, you can upgrade from the included floppy drive for 65 bucks.
However, if you want an LS120 floppy drive for the web PC, Dell will gladly sell you
one for 160 bucks.<

This is a bad comparison in that when you upgrade the Dimension you are actually paying $65 and the standard floppy drive. $95 for a floppy drive seems a bit steep but your implication that Dell is charging $95 more for the LS120 if you order it for the webpc as opposed to the Dimension is simply false.

John,
RE:, if you run out of USB ports for peripherals

How many WebPC do you know of that have 5 USB ports?
There are enough real issues without you adding silly
unreal issues.

You should go back to the CPQ thread and buy yourself an IPAQ. <G>
