At, on behalf of Mike Rosen, perhaps this post from RB will put things in perspective, lets not shoot the "potential" messenger I like this post, .......... By: atrigaux Reply To: 9715 by year2424 Wednesday, 1 Dec 1999 at 5:52 PM EST Post # of 9721 Just spoke with someone @ the company - recap: * The CyberBond event was written up (as a brief) in USA Today on 11/24, which I do not remember having been mentioned. * TBS is very enthusiastic about the response CyberBond has received so far. ACTV will not comment on any numbers at this point. * ACTV was fully aware of the TBS press release from today. It's being issued was purely driven by TBS's enthusiasm with the event. The 'Golden Quote' from Turner was not 'groomed' by ACTV at all and reflects his genuine reaction to the event thus far and ACTV in general: ``'Cyber Bond' offers our viewers a much more interesting and entertaining experience than the one-time webcast stunts that have been done before,' said Richard Turner, director of online marketing for TBS Superstation. ``Our goal is to develop a TV/Web convergence model that has long-term viability as an entertainment vehicle. HyperTV has made 'Cyber Bond`` a truly dynamic online community, where our viewers can not only receive cool Web content that relates to the movie as they're watching, but also allows them to chat with other 007 fans all over the world. It also offers our network and our sponsors a superb method of leveraging the Web for brand-building purposes, creating one-to-one relationships with an expanding audience of consumers.' * Anyone who thinks that ACTV is not thinking of their PR and communications in a strategic light at all times is incorrect. * ACTV is a vendor. When a customer (e.g. TBS) uses ACTV tech, it is the customer that will often want to issue the press release, and for a variety of reasons, ACTV will not always be mentioned prominently in all press releases. ACTV has flat-out stated in the past that they will be the company working 'behind the scenes'. This does not mean 'work for free'. Revenues will drive this stock in the end, not hot air. Revenues will be there. * All press releases / information disclosure comes to bear directly not only on the stock, but on other potential deals in the works. Sensitivity to how a release will affect all ACTV negotiations must be considered. * It is unrealistic to think that short term ACTV stock performance, because it is a company that has been public for many years, should have behaved like WINK or LBRT in recent months. They have received the benefit of being IPO's in a market that is frenzied over tech IPO's. * Finally, ACTV is the leader and will remain the leader in this space. Period. They're on the ball, guys. There is no doubt in my mind. Patience, patience, patience. This party hasn't even started yet. atrigaux (Voluntary Disclosure: Position- Long; ST Rating- Strong Buy; LT Rating- Strong Buy)
