Michael,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the PC Data information just for October? And wasn't it counter to the trend in retail, which has been up all year? I suspect that retail sales would decline just prior to the Christmas buying season.

On Tech Data, their earnings didn't meet expectations, but their REVENUES increased from $3.28 billion to $4.38 billion. I wouldn't interpret that as an industry slowdown.

Michael,

I'm still not sure, but PC Data reported negative YOY retail PC revenues, and Tech Data just warned.

Could it be because on-line sales are taking share away from retail? The e-tail (or whatever they're called) companies are claiming big time gains over last Xmas. Michael Dell was very bullish yesterday also. Capellas of CPQ was also this morning.
