ASDS - reason for selloff today.

It seems a rumor spread that the CEO was leaving and it was the COO. Not a problem, should rally hugh on Thursday as the news sorts itself out.

ASD Systems Falls as Chief Operating Officer Leaves Company

Garland, Texas, Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- ASD Systems Inc.'s shares dropped as much as 17 percent on concern that its chief executive was leaving, though the company said Chief Operating Officer Jim Cormier left the company.

The company's shares fell 3 3/8 to 24 5/8 in late trading, after touching 23 1/4. The company sold 5 million shares to the public on Nov. 11 at $8 a share.

ASD Systems provides services and software used to fill merchandise orders for Sears Roebuck & Co. and other catalog or Internet retailers. The shares had fallen after various Internet message boards expressed concern that Chief Executive Norman Charney was leaving the company.

The company said Charney isn't leaving. Instead, Cormier, the company's COO, is returning to his previous company, said Brendan Cohen, director of marketing.

``Our CEO is currently acting COO and we are looking for a replacement but we believe we've found one,' Cohen said.

The company expects to announce a new chief operating officer after the end of regular trading today.
