Mike -
I bought a low end Dimension about 6 months ago. In your words I took it out of the box, plugged in the keyboard, mouse and monitor, and plugged it in. I had maybe 2 buttons to get the internet service hooked up but it was no pain at all. DELL has a great "out of box experience" on the dimension line.

There's nothing unique about that for the Webpc. Get it???

I don't buy what you are saying either. As I mentioned before, the last few PC's I have installed for friends and relatives came with net access preloaded. You logon, the software verifies your account, and you are in. The Dimension currently comes with a cardboard map showing where the cables go, I assume the webpc will do so likewise. So how does the webpc make things all that much easier? Only difference I can see is that you will not have to plug in speaker cables if the speakers are embedded in the monitor.
