Some people smoke like chimneys, and eat fried foods their whole lives and live to be 100- it is in great part genetics. It doesn't mean EVERYONE can do that and live to be 100. Again, you really have to watch you penchant for anecdotal evidence.

Those all help but many health nuts die at early ages, you can not beat your genetics.

Pre disposition, to a certain extent we are pre-programmed. Your mom is 102 due to her genetics and moderate living.

My dad is 70, his mom died at 97, his dad 80, my mom is 63, her parents are both alive 87 dad, 83 mom. My mother's paternal grand mother died at 97.

So my grand parents are 87, 83, 1 dead at 80, one dead at 97. I don't drink, I don't smoke, will I die earlier if I do, probably. But my genetics say I have 80 in the bag.

We'll see in another 40 years I guess.

Everything in moderation is the key.

Responsilbility does build character but I'd rather have your $ and a 5000 sq ft home.
