Nearly three years back you will find on this thread a post about the prospect of long term rally that will be based on 'winner takes it all' phenomenon. In those days the narrow nature of move that is 'new highs and new lows' led many a posters think that this is a suspect move the bearish frame of mind continued for this whole move from 1000 on NDX in Oct 1998 to above 3000.

By the way we were way down on NDX, we have nearly tripled from that level,, the importance of recognition of brand names that have taken over a good chunk of global economy is intriguing, it was lack of appreciation of that 'break through rally of the winners' that confused many a posters. I think I would be rather part of the move from April and recognise potential problems of markets at 3000 NDX than to be advocating short at 1800. With all due respect to your thread you were pre-occupied with the problems of the broad market and missed the COMP and NDX move due to over emphasis on advance decline line and new high new lows. Timing is the key for marekt traders, one can be bearish all the way or be bullish and cautious after a rocket like move, I would any day like to be on the side of the trend thati s more important. market has its own logic and it is the mastery of market logic in your analysis that helps your trading, if you try to impose your will on the market one day you will be right but you would miss a lucrative run and your ability to short will also be greatly reduced due to premature short trades, reversal at the best opportune time in my opinion is an art and 'reversal of a reversal' if new high is taken out a master stroke of genius.

As, I always say never short a market making new high is also important, we at this thread have advocated the trend as the most important barometer, we have seconded our 'likes and dislikes' to market trends and that is how we have been with this run and probably will participate on the side this range will break.. above 1428 or below 1382.. we are watching.. thanks and regards..
