On the eve of the annual meeting and with the new year and Y2K approaching, it seems appropriate to post the MRVC calendar for 2000.

Jan. MRVC announces the appointment of Mr. Don Listwin as President of their Optical Access subsidiary. Mr. Listwin was formerly Executive Vice-President of Cisco Systems. Mr. Listwin said, "I am delighted to become associated with a future market leader in the exciting field of optical networking."

Feb. Earnings for fiscal year ending Dec. 1999 are announced, $.06/share, $.02 above analysts expectations. The company says that beta testing of their Red-C 16000 system is ahead of schedule and that customer interest is high.

Mar. Company announces an initial $3.5 million order from Mindspring Enterprises for the Red-C 16000 Subscriber Management System. J. P. Morgan initiates coverage of MRVC with a "strong buy" rating.

Apr. Optical Access IPO is heavily oversubscribed; the stock closes first day trading at 112 7/8, a 332% jump over the offering price of 34. Company reports 1st quarter earnings of $.11/share, beating analyst estimates of $.08.

May. Robertson Stephens Telecommunications analyst Paul Johnson initiates coverage of MRVC Communications, with a "strong buy" rating and a 12-months price target of $85 per share. Their report says, "We believe that the breadth of new products from MRVC will enable the company to become a major player in the emerging optical networking
market."

Jun. Company announces that agreement has been reached with a major, although unidentified, Internet Service Provider to be a beta test host site for the ARANEA-1 Terabit Router. Interest by other prospective customers is reported to be high.

Jul. Company reports 2nd quarter earnings of $.14, beating analyst estimates by 2 cents. Van Kasper raises 12-months price target to $90, citing strong performance from all
divisions. Gruntal analyst keeps MRVC at a "hold" rating but raises 12-month target to $63, $2.50 higher than the close on July 26th.

Aug. 2nd round financing for Zuma Networks subsidiary by a major investment banking firm is leaked to the media. When asked about the report, President and CEO Noam Lotan said, "I can confirm the financing but am unable to comment further."

Sep. Company announces that the remaining shares of their Optical Access subsidiary will be spun off to existing MRVC stockholders.

Oct. Earnings per share of $.26 for 3rd quarter blow away street expectations. Company announces plan to request increase in authorized shares to 150 million, to be voted on at the annual meeting scheduled for Thursday November 30th.

Nov. Company announces that shipments of the Linux Router have exceeded the 100 mark and that customer interest continues to be high. Also, the ARANEA-1 Router is expected to begin shipping in the 1st quarter of 2001. At the annual meeting 18 members of Silicon Investor show up wearing "See, I told you a 10-bagger was not enough" T-shirts.

Dec. Sector reports 24th consecutive month of successful short-term trades of trading shares, now up to 42 consecutive winning trades. Dana posts on SI that he is tired of hearing about Sector's trades and announces that he has turned negative on MRVC stock and has sold his remaining shares.
