Have seriously considered an alumni meeting or something. . .but I need to finish what I have started before moving on to new projects like that. . .perhaps this summer would be a good time for such. . .when everything has calmed down a bit. . . .good suggestion.

Sitting on hands can be the best way to hold on to your gains!

No move sometimes the best move. I too tried to raise a little cash yesterday. Turned out to be not even worth worrying about. I sold some e-commerce stocks for small gains. Then had to buy PSFT when it fell to 18 3/8. LOL too.

ANF and that sector retracing and basing a little before next run up today. Those you want to participate (look at their charts from last year, they sprung into spring) todays a good op. URBN esp, ANF. I decided to hold those into spring. Ignore the sometimes irritating day-to-day turbulence. IBM looks good with new chip tech. Hard drives also still cheap today. Good day to get in those.

UIS making a move now after its retrace and base act.
That ones truly going into the 40s soon.

INTC had bad news and went up. I was hoping for a buy op.

Otherwise ho-hum. These are the dog days of Xmas. Before the rally those who want to sell sell. And Y2K on peoples nerves too. It will be choppy but by spring all of these stocks should be significantly higher.

Go to cash? Why? In a few weeks youd just have to buy back. All those commissions. Taxes on profits. Not knowing if youll even catch a good dip. Hanging in there.
Retail will be great before and after Xmas (especially after), software and computers in 2000 should be hot. Hard drives coming back hard.

E-tailers I guess nobody understands yet. When they all start making profits that sector will settle down. At least I got LE and VUSA for $1000+ ers.

Baton: Just was stopping by and noticed your post. Yes, you are very correct, money management and solid discipline is much much more important than good stock picking skills. You can be a 50/50 stock picker and make very good money, but even if you are a 75/25 stock picker (making 75% winning picks), without good discipline and money management, you can lose your shirt.

Learn money management and discipline as you learn to trade, and become, over time, a better stock picker.

GOod luck
