if you insist. what i mean is i think that sun.com has executed during this window of opportunity, flawlessly. i think they are the BEST MANAGED hardware company period. However I think their leader is a flawed individual who is letting the PERSONAL invade the Private, enterprise, that is. He is painting his company into a corner and not HEDGING BUSINESS risk, which will prove to be a mistake. The leadership has also sought to maximize the stock price in the short term, and set the expectation bar so high that it can't possibly be met in the coming years. Like I said, great execution within a FLAWED plan that will be exposed, as competition, which has been taking it in the you know what, finally gets tired of it and fights back. Essentially, I still believe that sun.com is nothing more, and nothing less than a HARDWARE company, one that in the best of times, should get a 30 multiple. The share price maximizers have succeeded in almost tripling that. I see a major problem developing with SPARC, which will have a hard time being COST competitive as Intel gets its enterprise act together. W2k will be 90% of what UNIX is, which STARTS to be good enough. MSFT eventually gets it right. Unlike the thread participants, i have kept my eye on the BUSINESS.And what I see doesn't match the press release business plan. I expect the market to start sniffing this out as well, eventually. I have always been INTELLECTUALLY honest with the thread. I admitted I was wrong before and explained WHY I was wrong. And I said I was prepared to CHANGE my outlook if circumstances changed. But I don't see it.
