I'm spoiled now. I wouldn't buy or sell a stock any other way. This technique of trading on the inside (not to be confused with insider trading) makes me feel like I am stealing candy from a baby and the Market Makers. It's neat to watch your bid sitting there with the other Market Makers. If I really want a stock, I can beat a Market Maker to it by slamming in a bid that is just a bit higher than the best bid. You really need Level II to watch the MM's with your finger on the button and the order screen ready to go. It is as fast as greased lightning.

I look for a stock that is generating a "lot of trades" with "high volume" (for the liquidity) and "volatility". I watch to buy on the dips and sell on the tops for the day. There are usually 2 - 4 opportunities to do this during the day on a stock that fits that criteria. If I can't find the right opportunity, I stay out. There is always tomorrow. I never hold a position overnight unless I am playing a swing trade.

I use a candle stick chart with the 50 day moving average with MACD and the D line oscillator. I only go after those that I feel are sure bets, or as sure as they can be.
