< The world does not need Canada's stock exchanges.>

Unfortunately, with RRSP rules, Canucks need them.

Well of course Vancouver is not now what it was in the 80s, the OTC-BB in the States is now what Vancouver was in the 80s, or worse. I don't think it's a thing of nationalities, crooks cross borders just like cash and share paper do. A lot of the scamsters around the 80s VSE were Americans and from other nations, and of course there seems to be a good proportion of Canadians represented in recent US non-reporting bulletin board share distribution scams. Sleazeballs come from all over, and go where the current regs are most in their favour, could be Hong Kong next. The 'us' and 'them' involved in Kaiser's article are we the share-buying public, including JK, and them the people who run the structure of the market, who are of course the brokerage houses. They own it, they run it, they rule ... but maybe if we make a little noise we can bring a little pressure, and if not we can vote with our feet.

Many of us do have hopes that the cdnx will be a further improvement on the VSE - and it has improved, quite a bit over the last few years. Several companies i follow are on the VSE and ASE, they're as legitimate as any companies anywhere, though small and somewhat speculative. I really don't like the exchange though, old feelings run deep, and they charge too much for their realtime and depth, as well -g- .... But that's absurd that they would even consider hiding from investors such crucial information as share-paper creation details. How do you figure out a market cap without knowing the number of outstanding? ... and knowing the players is totally important, you want to know who took down a PP, and right away, not the next spring in the Form 61. Absurd, Kaiser's right.

None of this has anything to do with Jordex, it's fully-reporting and TO-listed.
I don't know what thread would be best to discuss this on, but i offer this one - Subject 18653
.. sort of related, another piece of information i think we should have ... too bad the shareholders don't run the market eh, we could sure make it better ... hey let's start one up -g- ..... cheers

Maybe in your eyes the world does not need Canada's stock exchanges, BUT as a Canadian (and a proud one ) I don't wish to see us controlled by another countries exchanges be it the US or any other country. We have sat back and allowed others to tell us how we should be for too long all ready.
