ICAB with strong HONG KONG .......HK stocks close higher, propelled by Hutchison

HONG KONG, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks closed higher on Thursday spurred
by another runaway performance from Hutchison Whampoa Ltd and some property stocks.
After a patchy start the Hang Seng Index (^HSI - news) closed up 180.52 points or 1.17
percent at 15,603.04. Turnover was HK$11.54 billion, compared with HK$10.56 billion on
Wednesday.

It was its highest close since August 21 1997 when it ended at 15,654.03, and traders said the index was defying gravity.
