Lucius, thanx for the extremely thoughtful response. Your post is another example of why this us a high quality thread.

I especially like your reminder that "domination isn't the same as gorilla"; and that Intel's gorilla status thru domination is likely unique. You also rightly point out that fiber isn't being lit as fast as it is being laid down. As you know, this is hotly debated, ie too much or too little fiber bandwidth. Even Gilder would point out that "supply creates demand", suggesting that too much fiber isn't likely a long-term problem. Don't know how true this is, but certainly, it doesn't appear that the Telecoms are slowing down in their fiber maneuvers.
