Re Futile Y2K Posts

Hi Young 49r,

Yep, I feel like the whistle that you put on your bumper to try to get the 'deer frozen in your headlights' to move off the road. Probably about as effective too!

My only objective is to make a couple of them uncomfortable enough to put aside enough supplies to at least make their move to the shelters more orderly.

Right. With all due respect to Ken, he needs to be less trusting of his sources, "expert" or otherwise. The issue is so complex and wide, no expert can predict more than a sliver of it with confidence. Intoning solemnly that Y2K definitely will be a huge problem, or that it definitely will not, is in my opinion nothing but unfounded speculation. We do not know and will not know until we move into the new year. The only certainty is uncertainty, like it or not.
