This is reply to both of your posts. First of all thanks for joining.
One, this info is often found in the financial notes of an annual report and sometimes on a web page. Often, Investor Relations will give you some info. If it something like CMGI, it is easy to get percentages. With TMO, it is very hard to figure out all of the complex relationships (with three or four generations of companies, sometimes two or three generations own shares in subsidiaries because that is the incentive for employees of mama company to develop new stuff).
It is very hard to value these investments. With Seagate, they are highly discounted. THis is quite common.
