Believe it or not,
today I took possession of my Gen 2 EV1 with NiMH.
This time we have a deep Green (racing car gren) EV1 that looks beautiful. The physical look of the vehicle is identically the same as the original version but the Extended range NiMH batteries make it an entirely new experience. After three years with the limited range, lead acid, batteries and having moved last year to a more remote area, I had about run out of patience. Without the NiMH I was not going to renew my lease.
It's too soon to give a report but I think you know that I had the EV1 with NiMH about eight months ago for three days. The battery is terrific and will easily take care of 95% of our driving requirements without public charging.
Thanks everyone for so many kind words during this often delayed adventure. My best wish for all of you is that you too get the chance to lease this amazing vehicle.
My special thanks go to Stan Ovshinsky, the often maligned genius behind this spellbinding company.
