I think DELL should start a door to door sales campaign to complement your suggestions. Of course, DELL could deliver RIMM pagers so that the uninitiated can order their PC directly from DELL. The pager could have a Java Script banner for DELL Direct<g>

Marketing seems to me to be a process that starts before the product is developed and ends with product feedback from usage, thus the cycle begins again. I believe that Dell has a campaign launched for the Webpc that targets the defined market segment. I would not be surprised that newcomers will have someone else (friend, relative) order for them online, but a phone order works too.
