Gonzo has gone a long way since last year! To the extent I provided any assistance last year, you are welcome! I'll play more with your current thinking when I get an opportunity. It is interesting that both of us are coming to embrace the net! Bringing YHOO into the SnP was, IMHO, very interesting. It was done just as the NAZ was about to crack. I'm probably just being too cynical. In one little move, the SnP added about 2 points to the average SnP PE. We'll see how it plays out. To me, ARBA is an even more interesting choice; a company with no earnings and a market cap of some $8.5B. I assume, you are looking at the B2B issue. My business associate, a techie type, picked ARBA and CMRC several months ago. I avoided laughing at the time! I'm clearly not laughing any more. I recognize that you are involved in this internet revolution. Is this choice based on personal experience? I've got a problem on the issue, as I instructed the Phleet folks that they would always recognize the name on the confirmation slip. However, I've come to the position that, assuming adequate volume to substantiate the TA, the risks are no greater in these than playing the turtles; and, boy can they move. Had NSOL and EFNT on my "puppy" radar screen today and I sit back in amazement. The FA Berney will never be of any assistance to you on the fixed income or equity equivalent (utilities and REIT's) creatures. Even in a bad hair period, I'm willing to bet that I (and you) can get a much better ROI elsewhere. Further, nothing will ever convince me to be a Buy and Hold type; however, I'm playing in retirement accounts so I certainly don't need to consider the tax issue. Moreover, in a taxable account, I would have a hard time endorsing any mutual fund. With the recent changes, I'm convinced that DIA is going to become the investment toy of choice and obliterate SnP as the benchmark. Time has shown that the Big Boyz are the investment place to be. If the DJIA will just get rid of a few more of the the old school, such as a loser such as EK (BTW I'm s/t long), and recognize the net, it will be an unbeatable "do-nothing" choice. I really wish that I had the time to run the telecom stocks thru the FA screen, as I believe that this is where the Big revolution is taking place. Like you, I sold T last Friday in one of my slower moving accounts. Like you, I was one day too soon. However, unlike you, I had bet the bank in early August at $50.5, watched it go down to the low $40's, and was glad to realize the generous profit. Screwed up entry points lead to screwed up exit points. It did teach me to pay more attention to the monthly TA charts. All for now! I'm very, very committed to Mr. Market this evening (about 90% in 3 stocks), and HOPE I don't get a nasty surprise after I take my nap. TB
