RE:"thStreet.com is reporting about Gateway's Q4 being weak. If true, I wonder how much of this has to do with CuMine problems."...

Hard to tell but if you go to a Gateway store, as i reported before, you will find one Celeron 400 for $999 and the next cheapest PC is A P-III-500 unit for $1686. Meanwhile, if you go to a Best Buy or CC etc. They are giving the Celeron units away for free w/internet sign up and selling P-III-500s well under $1000 with the same deal.
Gateway doesn't have a Prayer. PEOPLE ARE SUCKING UP THESE LOW COST PC'S SO FAST IT WILL MAKE YOUR HEAD SPIN. Even an Athlon in the $1000-$1500 range would help them...Intel has done them no favor by getting them to drop AMD with that special "deal"...and reneged to boot...Either Dell and Gateway adapt or they are going d o w n!

Yesterday briefing.com said that Merrill Lynch was cautioning that Dell's revs may not be up to par in Q4.
