Steve,

Nice find. This is as close to a confirmation as you can get without a GTW annoucement.

Hi steve:

Looks like another major endorsement for the Athlon. I wonder how much GTW paid for those ####'s of 600 Athlons.
Probably provide a boost for 99Q4 Athlon ASP as well as no. of units shipped as I doubt if management factored in the GTW number in their Nov. 11 revenue estimate "comfortably" above $800 million!
Maybe those EPS estimates between $0.01 and $0.32 won't end up being to far off the mark, unless too conservative!

Steve,

<a Gateway blurb ripped from AMDZone...
amdzone.com

zdnet.com

Gateway Select 600
This powerhouse comes with a 600MHz AMD Athlon, 128MB RAM, 20.5GB hard drive, 6x DVD-ROM, 32MB TNT-2 graphics card, SoundBlaster Live, Boston Acoustics BA 735 speakers and subwoofer, and 19-inch monitor. (Gateway; $2,499) >

Nice catch. Well, hopefully that puts an end to the rumors ;-) Now, if Gateway can just announce that I will complete my trade...

Chuck

Nice find. I searched Gateway site about an hour ago. One of the key phrase I used was "Gateway Select". Nothing turned up. How the hell ZDNET got this info? Like Charles mentioned in his post to you, we need Gateway announcement of Athlon systems. With the GTW announcement, Cirruslvr can get his $2 back (I'm looking for more) ;-)

Best regards,
Goutama
