I'm glad you recognize this.

We all need to keep in mind that there is a whole population of non-apocalyptic Christians and Biblical historians who view Revelations as a historic document related to past events rather than a prophetic forward looking document not to mention a majority global population of non-Christians who want nothing to do with any Western religious/political agenda (and will die and kill to defend themselves) no matter how well intentioned.

To assume otherwise is the height of hubris.

>>>I reckon that I can still apply religious values of decency and mutual respect and love to the secular quest for world government.<<<

Generally, I agree with your intent. I would argue the best way to express decency, mutual respect and yes, even love, is to leave others the hell alone within their borders to find their way and lead by example.

>>>Better to stay engaged in the "game" and trying to positively influence the inevitable, than to just sit back and wash our hands of the whole affair.<<<

In forcing our values on others the only inevitable outcome is a fight...and we will get one and deserve it.
