Tom or Z,

Do you think that having their manufacturing based in the United States gives a foreign company the opportunity to enter the market with a cheap-labor cost advantage? This seems to be a labor intensive product - 7,600 employees the last I heard.

Hmm. I am curious to know whether demand for KRP's wireless dropped or remained the same during their difficulties this year. That is, did they have a load of orders that they were (and are still) not able to fill? If they lost customers, I would be curious to see whether they simply transferred the orders to another wireless producer, or whether (he optimistically and groundlessly speculates) they perhaps accelerated transition wired suspensions. Has the ratio of TSA/wireless risen smoothly over the past year, or has their been a hitch since KRP's problems?

Jonathan

Edit: The more I think about it, I suppose there are just too many variables in this chaotic year to really make a proper diagnosis, and any answer to my question might just be radically underdetermined by the data.

Some data on Magnecomp.......
sesdom.ses.com.sg

Note half year report ending June99 released Sep99...a "trailing indicator".

Looks like they had a run rate of 20-25 million units a qtr going thru Jun. Also note that the 51% drop in units (sequential half year periods) yielded but a 33% drop in revenue which means their asp climbed considerably or they also sell something besides suspensions.
