"For those of you with interest in Gemstar, this is a must read... etown.com ...Earlier this year, Thomson conducted research with buyers of EPG-equipped RCA and ProScan TVs. Half of those surveyed said they use the guide every time they watch TV. Many reported plans to replace their paper guide with the electronic version, while one quarter of respondents had already made the switch to an EPG. This calls to mind something that bothered me about the TV Guide acquisition; If IPGs & EPGs take over (and I think they will), won't that cannabalize the paper guide, the 9M subscriptions? Anybody know if they have plans to spin the paper guide off?
