I had 2 sets of INTU calls and did extremely well and I did hold through earnings. I held quite a few through earnings this week and last including ADCT, ADI, NAVI.. I did not hold those that reached 52 week highs BEFORE earnings (FFTI). I also held CPRT.. I had a close call yesterday when I shorted CMVT and went long the same day but covered while still holding the options calls. Today I cashed in the option calls. What's great about options is that I didn't mind them going down 1 day as I planned to hold through through the 'recovery' of CMVT. I never thought they would 'recover' that quickly today of course. A lot of it is experience and luck. I trade a lot of repeaters which is why I mention them. VRTY I missed part of the run last quarter so I got in well today but nevertheless I sold most of the position. I have learned that you must leave on the table in order to be a trader.. Otherwise you risk losing it all the next day. There is always another stock around the corner.
