The way people took it as their "God given right" was truly ugly and evil. But people can take a glass of pure water and dump strychnine in it. It still looks smells and tastes like water. If you and I were looking at the glass we'd still be calling it water. I'm saying, people put something poison into a concept that simply meant God has manifest the destiny of this continent to recognize and revere him. That happened along with a whole bunch of bad stuff (as always).
