I had on;y suggested that Excite! take the ball tracked to them and run with it. All I hear is portal, portal, porthole. That's just the viewport. I don't see that a pretty face pulls all this revenue. After dancing Java applets what do you do with the thing after you've said hello? What can Excite! do to implement @Home without inviting the future, but making it happen now. Part of that is what needs to be done? Excite! is in RFD and they can get into XML + RFD + ECR, but only up to assisting implementation. Let all those others do the remote server software app composition. They can make agreements with these companies for the purpose of inter-operation. I don't mean compatibility. I mean operate smoothly so the users don't end up throwing government lawsuits at them. Consider how Navigator is handling the Net these days. If IE didn't crash more under XXX, I'd go back to it.
