RESEARCH ALERT-Gruntal starts E-Tek at outperform

NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Gruntal & Co. said on Thursday it started its coverage of optical networking company E-Tek Dynamics Inc. (NASDAQ: ETEK)
with a rating of outperform.

-- Set long-term price target at $124.
-- Set intermediate-term price target at $91.
-- Set fiscal 2000 EPS estimate at $0.78.
-- Set fiscal 2000 revenue estimate at $285.5 million.
-- Set fiscal 2001 EPS estimate at $0.96.
-- Set fiscal 2001 revenue estimate at $401.4 million.
-- Set fiscal 2002 EPS estimate at $1.14.
-- Set fiscal 2002 revenue estimate at $542.5 million.
-- Set fiscal 2003 EPS estimate at $1.43.
