I think investors will be out for two reasons:

(1) They are truly afraid of Y2K and want to be out (FUD).

(2) They think there will be a downturn and will look to scoop up some bargin buys.

Those in the first group will not be back in until after the first of the year sometime when things have settled. Otherwise why would they be out in the first place?

Those in the second group are not at all concerned with Y2K and will be looking for an entry point. I feel this will be near close of market on 12/31/99.

The main reason I feel this way is that I believe there are more investors that fall into the first group than into the second. This should keep the bargin prices in line at the close. JMHO. BWDIK!
