Ticketmaster Shares Rise on USA Networks Investment


Pasadena, California, Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch Inc.'s shares rose 10 percent after USA Networks Inc. invested $40 million more in the company, which sells tickets and offers local city guides on the Internet.

Ticketmaster Online rose 3 1/16 to 32 13/16 in trading of 2.3 million shares, more than double the three-month daily average.

USA Networks, a media company run by Barry Diller, boosted its stake in Pasadena, California-based Ticketmaster Online to about 52 percent from 51 percent. The investment increases Ticketmaster Online's available cash to about $93 million, which the company said it will use for investments and acquisitions.

Ticketmaster Online stock has fallen 41 percent this year.
