Hugh, You said: Anthony, I'm no expert but I think RealVideo allows the programer to plug in their own decoder and decompression software You meant to address that to me, since I think Anthony does know what's going on, and I'm the one who's short on the info. I was not aware of this programmable feature of RealVideo. Is there any way to get a good close look at the stream? Maybe there is some information in a header or something that would tell us whether or not this is a new algorithm. Cheers, William
