All, I guess this explains the renewed threats to the oil fields. While the US State department acknowledges rebel leaders are "responsible for extrajudicial killings, beatings, arbitrary detention, forced conscription, slavery and occasional arrests of foreign relief workers without charge." the Clinton Administration passed a new law in support of rebels. <A new law authorizing U.S. food aid to Sudanese rebels is drawing strong opposition from United Nations and private assistance groups, which contend that such help could actually aggravate an already dire situation.> Full Story: sudan.net
