Maybe this is grossly over simplification....but even if oil stopped for a few days, wouldn't that help as the reserves would be lower and the cost of crude increase???

Embedded chips: I agree with you that it is highly unlikely that embedded chips exist in wellheads, pipelines, tanker loading facilities, etc. I consider those who claim such are just blowing smoke to bolster their own vested interests.
