niceguy767, Re: <Do you really believe that the "here and now" profit/loss contribution of the Athlon division is a relevant indicator as to the present value of discounted anticipated future cash flows of the "Athlon" division? >

It was my observation that the other posters (from the other side) constantly come up with "themes" (or broken records) with an amazing concerted effort.

The current theme is to give all the credit for any AMD breakeven possibility to Flash Memory business and discredit the CPU side of the business.

If you notice that CPU business is the main competition to Intel - that's what the other posters want to discredit.

This thread often misses to recognize the concerted effort by these other posters and wastes away its time by dicussing the issue underlining the theme with each individual other poster under a noble pretext of "contrary" info.

I often wonder how the other posters pull it off - the concerted effort that is - how they all play the same broken record (sometimes, surprisingly you even here the same broken record from Intel and analysts too).

Best thing to counter this is to concentrate on what's here now and focus on valid information pertained to both the AMD and Intel.

Best regards,
Goutama

If he doesn't, I do. While you may turn out to be correct, not all of us are wearing the same rose colored glasses. Your utter confidence of smooth sailing from here on out is naive and fails to take into consideration historical fact. While history is no guarantee of the future, it's a better predictor than a Pollyanna view like your's.

You may turn out to be right, so bet your vision. I'm betting mine. Do you have a position in AMD?
