There should be a greater relationship between the resume and the job sought.

The job we're talking about is Chairman of the Board. He doesn't need to know all the details of how the business is run. He's needs strategic vision and the ability to sell the organization on it.

Your example of Carter makes my case - career politician who got lost in the details.

Clinton didn't come from a small state. He comes from somewhere in outer space.
