John, "Q. What should I do if I purchased a HiFD drive or media prior to October 1999?
A. Due to an engineering change implemented in all Sony HiFD drives available starting October 1999, they will not recognize any HiFD disks purchased prior to November 1999. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

For further information, or for information on how to receive free replacements on all HiFD products purchased prior to November 1999, please contact Sony at 1-800-597-5649. Models eligible for Free Replacement include:

HiFD Drives: SFD200S-BP, Parallel Port HiFD External Drive HiFD
HiFD Media: HIF200F, Single-pack HiFD Diskette 3HIF200F, 3-pack HiFD Diskette

Q. What drive configurations are available as of November 1999?
A. Sony will first offer an external parallel port model. An external USB drive will follow in December 1999. A slim USB external drive is forecasted to be available in the first half of year 2000.

Q. What is the price of the external drive?
A. The suggested retail price for the external parallel port drive is $179.

Q. How much do the HiFD 200 MB disks cost?
A. Suggested retail pricing for the HiFD disks is $14.99 for a one-pack and $39.99 for a three-pack.
