49r, I find the color and texture of your prose quite vivid and clever, but sometimes have trouble interpreting what you're saying.

I have no idea what I've done in "the last 24" to provoke you so. You're obviously passionate about Y2K, the WTO, emergency declarations, and the rights of protesters. I have not disagreed with anything you've said about any of that nor have I chimed in in support of Ron's arguments. All I have said about Seattle is that there were some lessons learned there. The remainder of my posts yesterday and today were responses to a couple of the wilder conclusions you've drawn about me, not about the subject at hand. I've repeated many times on this thread that I think the worst-case Y2K scenario is possible. I've never been disrespectful to anyone who believes it will surely happen. Yet you seem comfortable drawing conclusions about me, for example, from the fact that I spent some time as a computer programmer in the basement of the Pentagon in the 70's? Where do you get this stuff:

>>Doesn't it even SLIGHTLY CONCERN YOU that you and Reece are whitewashing with the twin "Let Freedom's Ring around the bathtub" dissolving Washington paint brushes from the same sop bucket?<<

Or this: >>Thanks to your hysterical screeching demonstrativeness the last 24<<. Or this: >>slobbering and foaming at the mouth<< Moi? You're kidding, right?

I'm not taking offense at any of your cracks about me, only pointing out that drawing such outrageous conclusions is hard on one's general credibility and undermines one's cause.
